Adventure 64: Karen on Nutrition
I was first introduced to Karen of Karen's Energy at the beginning of October while attended the Cancer Killer's seminar. Well, she recently agreed to hold one of her classes in my brother's home in Provo, and we were all invited. By 'we' I mean my family of course, but also, anyone who wanted to, it was an open invitation. And a very enjoyable evening!
You'll see a long string of lights wrapped around Karen, this represents the intestines. She went into great detail on how the body processes food, and the different processes it goes through. This was a good review, as it helped reinforce how interconnected the body is, literally.
This class went into a great amount of detail, so I will hit a few pieces of information that struck me. They are as follows:
- Stomach acid must be acidic, or acid reflux will develop (so be aware of this if you are putting maybe too much emphasis on being alkaline)
- Toxic blood (which comes from not having regular bowel movements) enters the liver (our poor liver!)
- The main reason we eat produce is for the minerals
- All minerals come from the ground (she made us repeat this three times)
- Soak all grains and beans, this enhances the nutrition greatly!
- Try to avoid gluten, good grain replacements:
- Quinoa
- Millet (flour replacement)-- combine with cauliflower for mock mashed potatoes
- Buckwheat
- Amaranth
- Wild Rice
- Drinking cow milk causes osteoporosis
- All proteins come from plants (we also, repeated this three times)
- Meat is best raw
I know, I know! Some of these bullet points are provocative from what you know! To get a better understanding of these nutrition nuggets, sign up for one of Karen's free seminars, it's full of information! She will explain it better, and with more sources than I could.
