Adventure 66: Masala Indian Grill

I always make a mental note when I see a new Indian place pop up. Remember a few years ago when Indian cuisine was almost a mystery in Utah? I love that it's everywhere now. Love it.

This one popped up in Sugar House. Let's just admit, it's great to watch the rejuvenation of Sugar House. For every new shop that opens, a little bit of the part of me that died in 2008 comes alive.

You know an award winning locale warrants a good tasting.

The interior of Masala Indian Grill is very small, it seems to be built for a mostly 'to-go' crowd.

However, there are some delightful modern indian touches all over the place, from pictures of Indian actors, to um... pictures of more Indian actors. It is almost the antithesis of Bombay House that seems to celebrate the ancient traditions of India.

The dish I got was good. About what you might expect from a 'curry in a hurry' type establishment. The mango lassi was very yogurty! Very. The bread was the best part. It was very similar to the naan we discovered at Zaika. Delicious!
