Adventure 57: Off Broadway Theater, It's a Wondrous Life
This adventure is brought to you by my friend Fernando, who recommended it, and provided it!
First off, this adventure marked the first day I've worn my wool coat for the season, which is pretty major. I mean, there's no going back at this point. Even though we have a month until the calendar marks it, for me, winter has started.
Friday night was the opening night of The Off Broadway Theatre's It's a Wondrous Life, and that is where this adventure begins.
(sorry about the finger in the picture)
It was quite fun to walk into the lobby feel like we were walking the Christmas season streets of Bedford Falls.
Tickets in hand, we're ready to head in!
... and booing the villain when he entered the stage, also with his musical queue.
The plot points were summarized pretty quickly, such as the sledding scene when George saves his brother's life, this happened in about 2 minutes...
Many things were left out, such as the sub-plot of his father's death, and the weight that added to George's obligation to stay and run the Building and Loan, and the bank run, but it served to move the plot along quicker, and with a more light-hearted approach.
Unlike the movie, we got to see Clarence actually get his wings, a real treat.
Time spent on adventure: 3 hours
Money spent: $16/ticket
Recommendation: 7 out of 10 adventure points!
